Ok so that probably still has you confused, so let's get you a better definition as it relates to how you'll actually be using it :)
The Facebook Pixel is going to allow you to do the following things:
- Create Custom Audiences: You'll be installing the Facebook pixel globally (meaning that it 'fires' on every page) - so Facebook will basically keep a note of every time anyone has visited any page on your website. This is extremely useful for creating 'custom audiences' that you can use in your marketing, and this is some of the highest ROI to be found within Facebook marketing. For example: you could create a 'custom audience' of every single person that visits a 'seller' related page on your website - then you could create an ad campaign offering something like 'free in-person expert home valuations' and target the ads to show only to people that visited those seller pages within your site!
- Track Conversions: There's only one way to know if your campaigns are actually working, and that's by tracking conversions - a conversions takes place when you've received a lead. We'll cover this in more detail in a sec :)
